6 tips to help detoxify your skin

It’s safe to say 2021 is flying by with the first quarter of the year already behind us. This time of the year means (for most of us), overindulging which then can lead to breakouts, dehydrated and distressed skin. Acne can be caused by a variety of reasons such as sugar, hormone inbalances, and dehydration (just to name a few) but rest assured, there is a way to enjoy a treat without the guilt.

1. Up that water intake

We tend to forget about water consumption when we’re enjoying the finer things in life which can mean our skin ends up dehydrated and barrier impaired.

Try a simple pinch test to determine your skin’s hydration levels. If you notice any wrinkling or if your skin is not bouncing back when you pinch a portion of your cheek lightly, it could be dehydrated.

The best way to flush toxins from your body is by drinking plenty of water. It helps your kidneys get rid of waste products within your body in return helping brighten and rehydrate your skin. Aim to drink up to eight glasses of water a day.
